Heat Related Illnesses
Painful muscle spasm that occurs when sweating profusely in heat
Electrolyte imbalance caused by sweating
Water may be drunk but person must replace lost electrolytes
Avoidance of heat cramps
Thirst cannot be used as a guide for the need to drink fluid
Water must be taken every 15-20 min in hot environments
Drink electrolyte replacement fluids
Muscles being used are most susceptible
